We have a date for Apple’s next online-only conference, and that’s October 13, 10 pm PST, 1 pm EST 4 pm UTC. We’re expecting Apple to announce their new line of iPhones to replace the current 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max. These are expected also to launch with the A14 Bionic chip the announced for the new iPad Air line and 5G connectivity, though it’s possible this latter feature might only be in the more expensive models at first. We’re not expecting these iPhones to switch to USB-C just yet, but Apple could surprise us. The question will be if these iPhones will be 11S’ or 12: incremental improvements or a major revamp.
It’s also possible that we might see the first Mac running Apple Silicon in this announcement. I’m personally expecting this to be a MacBook, likely the Air, as there it would be lower risk to Apple as far as processing speeds while also being able to show off the better battery life that Apple Silicon can get compared to Intel chips. A Mac Mini or low-end iMac is also possible.
What are you looking forward to in the announcement? Anything you’re particularly hoping to see? Let us know in the comments and on social media.
